Instalation and setup

A.- Extract files from the .zip file to a folder

You must copy the .ZIP file to your PC and extract the files to a folder of your choice. The installation process is much more easy if you choose "C:\BIBMASTER" as installation folder, so users are encouraged to install the software in that folder.
Anyway, all the other files (.mdb, .doc, .hlp...) must be kept in the same folder as the main program.

   B.- Configure Bibmaster

You must double-click "Bibmaster.mdb" icon, or launch MS Access© and open the "Bibmaster.mdb" database.

  1.- Initialize configuration file

The first time you launch BIBMASTER in a new installation, you may see the following screen:

If we don't want to customize our configuration folder, we click on 'por defecto' (Default) and then on 'Inicializar fichero de configuración' (Initialize configuration file). This allows BIBMASTER to configure itself according to the chosen installation folder.

If everything is right, we'll see:

And after that, the Main Menu screen:

2.-Language selection and parameter setting in Bibmaster

The following step is to choose the preferred language and to make sure the Microsoft Word© templates are correctly placed (the are needed to produce lists, catalogs, ...). If we click on the 'Configurar Aplicación' (configure application) button, the following screen will appear:

You can also state the text that will head the specimen labels at this point. After that, we close this screen and then:

3.- Create a new dataset (empty)

From the Main Menu, click on 'crear juego de datos' (Create a New Dataset) and the following screen appears:

Once the new dataset is created, we can check/edit its parameters with the 'editar/añadir juego de datos' (Add/Edit Dataset) option. With the data showed in the previous screen, we'll see something like this:

We don't have to change anything in this screen if we don't want to. If we want to implement overlapping projects datasets, then we should customize this settings. In BIBMASTER user manual you'll find some examples on this matter.

4.- Select a dataset to start working

To start working, you only have to choose the appropiate dataset. This action is performed in the Main Manu, lower-right corner:
