<P>The <STRONG>Ebbe Nielsen Prize </STRONG>will be awarded for the eleventh time in 2012 to a person or small team that is demonstrating excellence in combining biodiversity informatics and biosystematics research.&nbsp;The Prize consists of <B>€30,000</B>, and is intended to allow the recipient(s), who may reside in any country, to engage in biosystematics/biodiversity informatics research outside his/her/their country of residence for a period of 3-6 months. This workshop is addressed to people who work with biological databases: both those working in natural history collections and those working with other biodiversity-related databases. The principles of data quality will be revised together with methods to increase this quality in our databases. <P>The Vascular Plant Herbarium (MA) of the Royal Botanical Garden of Madrid (CSIC) has exceeded this December <STRONG>half a million records </STRONG>shared through the GBIF network. After the last update, 534,404 records are currently available for viewing online through GBIF data portal.
