Call for nominations opens for 2020 GBIF Young Researchers Award

We are welcome to receive nominations for the GBIF Young Researchers Award 2020. This call is addressed to Master and Ph.D. students working with GBIF data in their studies. The main objective of the award is to foster innovative research and discovery in biodiversity informatics by graduate students who are deploying GBIF-enabled data in master’s and doctoral studies at universities and research centres in GBIF Voting and Associate Participant countries. Two awards of 5,000€ each will be made available for the winners.

In the 2019 call, the winners of this award were Nicky Nicolson (Brunel University of London, UK) and Marcos Zárate (CONICET, Argentina).

Applicants can obtain details regarding the submission of proposals and other information from the national GBIF node. In Spain, applications must be submitted to the Coordination Unit of the Spanish GBIF Node (info@gbif.es) before April 30th, 2020.
