Descripción

Modern botanical garden integrated by research laboratories, herbarium, germ-plasm bank and collections of alive plants of macaronesic flora (mainly from Canary Islands), cactus garden, and palmetum. It was created in 1952 by the Swedish naturalist Eric Sventenius. The Garden has vocation in the study and conservation of the flora from Canary Islands. It is an institution dependent to the Insular Town Cuncil of Gran Canaria.
