The Instutute of History is an scientific institution of Humanities belongs to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, an organism of the Spanish Ministery of Sciencie and Technology. This Institute is integrated by nine departments which have the same seat. However, the Department of Prehistory shares seat with the National Museum of Arqueology.
